14. Fluid Retention
If your feet, ankles or legs are feeling swollen lately, you might be surprised to find out
that this too can be a hidden symptom of liver damage. Basically, when the liver is
affected, the proteins cannot circulate optimally in your body, thus causing circulatory
problems, which lead to fluid retention. In order to test out whether your swollen legs are
a result of liver damage, do this simple test: press out with your finger on the area, then
notice whether the imprint of your finger remains on your leg for a while – if so, a visit to
the doctor might be in order.
